On this page, you will find information on Regulation (EU) 2025/40 of the European Parliament and of the Council on packaging and packaging waste – known as the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation).
The Regulation entered into legal force on 12 February 2025 and takes effect on 12 August 2026.
Individual delegated acts relating to this Regulation will be adopted gradually (between 2025 and 2040).
On 1 August 2026, the European Commission published the second edition of the frequently asked questions on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. This edition provides important clarifications on the roles of manufacturers and producers, existing stocks of packaging, traceability, technical documentation, declarations of conformity, substances of concern and the approach taken by supervisory authorities.

Template for an end-user declaration under the PPWR Regulation for foreign suppliers (CZ/ENGLISH)
Pursuant to Article V, paragraph 17 of the General Terms and Conditions in force from 1 July 2026:
A professional end-user who is a party to a contract for joint fulfilment is obliged, prior to purchasing packaging (a packaged product), to inform their foreign supplier (manufacturer) that they are the end-user and that the obligations arising from the manufacturer’s extended responsibility must be duly fulfilled by the manufacturer in question.
