Actions for the public
EKO-KOM has been participating in many events and school programs since 1997. Since that time, EKO-KOM´s school programmes visited over 600 000 satisfied students and the public actions regularly have over 50 000 attendees per year. As an authorized packaging organisation, EKO-KOM has the duty to periodically inform inhabitants about the collecting and recycling system. For this reason EKO-KOM has many activities for the public which became very popular with schools and families with children.
EKO-KOM´s first project was the school educational programme called Tonda Package on the road. We created a mascot for children, the dustman Tonda Package who guides the children through the world of recovery and collecting the waste. This school programme also educates the teachers how to correctly teach the students to sort waste and give them full informations about the recovery.
Communication Campaings
EKO-KOM very closely cooperates with the each region in Czech Republic on the communication campaigns. A Very successful action for the public is the event Coloured days. This event shows the children all the individual aspects of collecting and recovery. Coloured days has cute and funny mascots as PET bottle Petka Peťka or Čenda magazine. There is also a special caravan equipped with interactive games and information about recovery and sorting the waste. These events are very popular and visit over 50 cities in Czech Republic over the year.
EKO-KOM succesfully tries to reach every inhabitant. EKO-KOM has advertisements in radio, televisions, on billboards, flyers or cash-belts in supermarkets.
Our succesfful TV and billboard campaign for the year 2008 was called „The woman from neighbourhood“ (Sousedka) with text: "Whatever reason is good. Sort waste.". You can see it in section Media in Tv campaigns.
EKO-KOM has in every area a manager who closely cooperaters with the regional authorities and helps them find the most effective system of collecting and recovery. In this field EKO-KOM is very succesful. Over 70% of inhabitants are actively sorting and the numbers of the collected and recovered waste are growing from year to year.
